Franz Steindl has been offering landscape maintenance services in the Lower Austrian municipality of Groß Sierning since 2009. Some of the activities that he performs include embankment mowing of freight roads and keeping forest trails clear of obstacles.
Recently, Franz acquired a GreenTec Boom Mower Scorpion 730 PLUS with attachment tools for grass mowing and tree trimming. The machines were purchased through GreenTec’s Austrian importer Mauch.
“I had owned a reach mower for a long time,” Franz Steindl says. “However, it was worn out and its range was now also too small. Something new was definitely needed.”
Franz had already become acquainted with the Scorpion 730 PLUS at various trade fairs. This acquaintance was deepened by the means of internet research. During a Mauch visit, things were finally nailed down.
"The cutting and working quality are excellent. The machine itself is very flexible," says the entrepreneur, pleased about his latest acquisition. "It is also very easy and quick to attach and detach tools – due to the quick release system. The long range of 7.3 m is just brilliant. The sensational mowing head, which can be rotated 180 degrees, also gives me many options. I can both mow backwards and – with a circular saw – cut backwards.”
In addition, Franz Steindl enjoys a unique selling point that the new boom mower gets in combination with his Valtra N134 tractor: "Thanks to the rotor swivel joint and the mobility of the arm, I can drive my Valtra both forwards and backwards - with the reversing device. I don't think there is anything like this on the market yet. This is genius."
