Boom mower mounting options
You need to consider if your vehicle has the appropriate weight to carry our boom mowers. We recommend that compact tractors at least weigh 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) to carry our small boom mowers. Loaders, such as skid steers and telehandlers, must at least weigh 2,250 kg (4,960 lb). For medium-sized tractors, we recommend that they weigh at least 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) to carry our Scorpion 630 and Spider 520 models. You will need a tractor that weigh at least 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) to carry our biggest models in the series. Counterweights can be purchased as optional equipment to give more stability between the boom mower and your vehicle.
Mounting process on compact tractors, skid steers, telehandlers and other loaders
Our Scorpion 4 series, which consists of the Scorpion 330 and 430 models, covers small boom mowers with horizontal and vertical reaches up to 4.3 and 4.1 m (14’1” and 13’5”), respectively. The Scorpion 4 series can be mounted on compact tractors or loaders, such as telehandlers, skid steers, etc.
It has many different mounting options for compact tractors as the boom mowers either can be front, rear or reverse mounted. Instead of the traditional three-point mounting, the Scorpion models have four mounting points on the mainframe of the compact tractor. The two lower points are connected to the compact tractor’s lift arms while the two upper points are attached to a triangular frame in the tractor’s top link bracket or equivalent.
An extensive range of brackets are available if you choose to mount the boom mower on a loader. The brackets are bolted to the base frame of the vehicle.
Mounting process on medium and large-sized tractors
Our Scorpion 6 and 8 series, which consist of the Scorpion 530, 630, 730 and 830 models, are large boom mowers with horizontal and vertical reaches from 5.3 to 8.3 m and 5.1 to 8.1 m (17’5” to 27’3” and 16’9” to 27’7”), respectively. The Scorpion 6 and 8 series can be rear mounted on medium and large-sized tractors.
Our Spider 6 and 8 series, which consist of the Spider 520, 620, 720 and 820 models, are large boom mowers with horizontal and vertical reaches from 5.2 to 8.2 and 5.1 to 8.1 m (17’1” to 26’11” and 16’9” to 27’7”), respectively. The Spider 520, 620, 720 and 820 can be delivered as reverse or rear mounted. The two smallest models, Spider 520 and 620, can also be delivered as front mounted, where they are mounted in a front lift or on a municipal plate. The unique thing about the Spider series is that the arm has a 270° working range which allows you to mow on both side of the tractor.
The Scorpion and Spider 6 & 8 series come with our patented 4-point mounting system, which is simply unique, flexible and stable.
Instead of the traditional three-point mounting, the models have four mounting points on the mainframe. The two lower points are connected to the tractor’s lift arms while the two upper points are attached to a triangular frame in the tractor’s top link bracket, K80 ball hitch or pulling jaw.
An additional lateral stabilization is mounted from the lift arm to the drawbar. Incredibly easy and simple installation which provides 100% stability.
